I haven’t put my own singing out in the world because I’ve been putting myself in the background developing other artists. Well, I LOVE TO SING so am going to work on posting more recordings (and because I know there are at lease a few people who would like me to). A recent visit to my friend Ryan Black’s 88’s Cabaret inspired me to get back on the piano bench and get singing again.
I love Bruno Mars’ music–especially lately with his disco/funk/Motown revival sound (In an alternate universe I would have been coming into my twenties during the American 1970s… but that’s a different post). Anyway, Bruno and I have about the same tenor range (maybe his is a little higher). This is my own piano/vocal arrangement. And I recorded this in 2011 but never posted it. I hope you enjoy my version of “Grenade.”
I take requests and I’m open for collaborations, too. And please, take a minute to post a comment below. I’d love to hear from you!
Jon,
dude that was legit. I knew all the Roberts could sing, but man that was great. Thanks for sharing. Amazing talent!
Thank you Jared! I hope to post more soon. Do you still play the trumpet? Would love to see that!
Sweetness brother! Let’s get some collaboration going. Ready to cut some tracks with you soon.. –
Yes!! Certainly we should be able to work on something. Postal Service did it without the Internetz. We have so much technology to bridge between here and Texas. Let’s figure it out!
