When Mike Merchant, CEO of ANASAZI Foundation first approached me regarding their annual scholarship dinner, I knew is was a night I wanted to help make memorable. Multi-Grammy Award winning performer Wynonna Judd was slated to receive the Turn for Peace Award for her efforts to promote peace and healing among families everywhere. From my experience, the evening would be a success when, long afterward, Wynonna, the ANASAZI families, and other guests would experience a feeling of joy when they remember it. Moreover, what I hoped would come to mind for them wouldn’t be so much the specific details but the overall sense created by the theme and ambience accentuated by certain emotional highlights.
Melanie, McKenzie, and Madelyn Merchant are the oldest of 7 musical siblings from Gilbert, Arizona entertaining audiences from Arizona to New York. By 2006, Melanie had become a featured singer-songwriter and opened with an original song for a benefit event honoring the legendary Wynonna Judd. In the Summer of 2007, they formed their country-bluegrass band Melanie and Firefly to perform during Writer’s Night at the world-famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee. They went on to share the stage with The Gin Blossoms, Ryan Shupe & The Rubberband, and Benton Paul later that year.
This is a truly awesome cake. You’ll want to make it like, every week (Recently, I have.) And your life is basically meaningless if you haven’t tried it at least once. Here’s my recipe!
Quick: how big is the cover image on a Facebook page? Take it from Lorde and let me be your ruler, er… let this be your ruler.
Whether you’re brand new to social media or a savvy, seen-it-done-it-all veteran, working out the heights and widths of all those images you need to make your favorite social media channels look good is a time-consuming and, it’s fair to say, laborious process. Even worse: next time you have to do this, I guarantee that you won’t remember anything.
So, I’m here to help you out with this infographic below, which provides a quick snapshot of dimension info for the main images on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest.
I haven’t put my own singing out in the world because I’ve been putting myself in the background developing other artists. Well, I LOVE TO SING so am going to work on posting more recordings (and because I know there are at lease a few people who would like me to). A recent visit to my friend Ryan Black’s 88’s Cabaret inspired me to get back on the piano bench and get singing again.
